Featured recipe from Eating for Health:
high energy
smoothie
This allergen-free smoothie is a result of years of experimenting in an effort to create the ultimate smoothie. Those who have tried it agree - it is the best all around smoothie! For variety, try with different fruits according to your own tastes and food tolerances.
Level III
12 oz. pure apple juice
18 oz. purified water
Approx. 2 ½ cups non-allergen frozen fruits (peaches, grapes, melons, cherries, blueberries)
1-2 tsps. Green Kamut powder
1-2 tsps. flax oil or extra virgin olive oil
2-3 heaping tsps. Pro Fiber E.F.A. powder (or equiv.)
Mix all ingredients in blender and serve. Put half in a thermal cup and have as a mid-morning snack. This delicious smoothie will keep you satisfied and energetic all morning.
Note: The photo shown is not an accurate depiction of the actual High Energy Smoothie. Due to the inclusion of the nutritious, energizing Green Kamut, in real life it is green. And for that reason, as was once brought to my attention, is best concealed in an opaque container when consumed outside the home, for the sake of squeamish onlookers!
